"Sydney Harbour Bridge", ©1998 Elroy
Christenson
The Sydney Harbour Bridge was opened in 1932. It
was the main symbol of Sydney before the Opera House was
constructed on the same harbor. It is still regarded
as one of the largest steel span bridges but not the
longest. It presently carries eight vehicle lanes,
two train lanes, a foot path and a cycle path. Under
this bridge came the many immigrants to Australia.
