"Bouma Park, Taveuni Island, Fiji",
©1999 photo Elroy Christenson

The main crop on Taveuni is probably the coconut. Taveuni Island has a small but spectacular park on the rainy side of the island. Bouma Park shown here has the waterfall used in the movie "The Blue Lagoon". There are several kilometers of hiking trails leading to the upper falls. This section of the island is even more unspoiled but also much wetter. One noted bird here is the red pigeon which is found on no other island.
