"A Church in Bavaria, Germany", © 1984 Elroy Christenson 1984.
There are many picturesque churches in Bavaria tucked into the hills and valleys. This area had gone through the many traumas of the Reformation where Catholic Churches were ravaged of images of the Virgin Mary and various saints. The original mural were frequently white washed and the churches were converted to Lutheran. Eventually the Catholic churches made headways into southern Germany again.
