The tulip fields around Mount Vernon, Washington state are world famous.  The Dutch who settled here as pioneers found this to be almost identical growing conditions to what was left in Holland. Now bulbs are grown here and sold through the Dutch bulb catalogs.  Their spring beauty is celebrated each with year with a Tulip Festival.
