Longbeach, Washington
"Longbeach, WA" This is promoted as the
longest beach in the nation. It is 28 miles long
but I think probably not the longest. According to
Wikipedia it is the second longest drive-able beach,
second to Cox's Bazar beach in Bangladesh. This
shot from the south ends. Two or three miles north
of here they have a sand castle building contests as
well as kit flying contest. There is a lot
of clam digging here during the right season. It
has been almost loved to death in recent past. It
is now undergoing a major restoration of the beach
grasses to prevent erosion from winds and waves.
People who drive on the beach have to be careful not to
get stuck in an incoming tide. The original five
digital photo panorama was 180" x 21".
