"Notre Dame Flower Garden" Notre
Dame Cathedral at night is still a lively place to
roam. It is the central crossing point on the
River Seine and connects the shopping area from the
Latin Quarter. Many entertainers are at work here during
the day and into the evening. This is one of the
reasons why this is city is known as the City of Light.
As many know, the cathedral was burned severely, perhaps irreparably in April 15, 2019. I have visited this place often and stayed in several hotels only blocks away. I have several watercolors that I did on location on sunny summer days. It was always wonderful place to contemplate what life in Paris was like in the era in which it was built. It remains a sad day and we are very hopeful that the highly skilled workers in Medieval building skills will be able to bring back the beauty and grandeur of this majestic building.
