"The Roman Baths at Bath", ©1999 photo Elroy Christenson The Roman Baths in Bath are remnants of Roman occupation about 2c AD. There may have been ancient Druid usage of the hot springs here for centuries earlier. Typically the Romans would take over local religious sites and impose their own temples to show their dominance of the local people. The baths here are not used except as a tourist site while the hot water still streams through the town even heating the local church.
