The Cathedral of Pisa was at one time surrounded by a wall which has
now been mostly removed. The leaning tower was designed as a bellfry
but starte to lean during the construction. Much work has been done to
try to stabilize the tower but climbing it has been banned. The
Cathedral has some terrific artworks including a beautiful carved
pulpit.
