Hadrian's
wall, Scotland/Great Britain
"Hadrian's Wall between Scotland and Great Britain",
© 2020 Elroy Christenson
Hadrian's Wall was built by
the Romans to keep out the incursions of the Scots from
Great Britain. The Highland Scots had a reputation
into the 1600's as raiders and cattle rustlers.
The Romans decided it wasn't worth their while to
conquer them but rather tried to control them.
Some sections of the wall still remains but many miles
have been torn down to be used as building material for
local houses. This section is about half way between
York and Dumfries.
