Here at the Viking Ship Museum in Roskilde is a Viking Boat Building workshop where this member was building a small row boat with hand split oak planks using traditional Viking boat building techniques.  Many of boats that are used here to give tourists an opportunity to sail on one of these crafts were created here using these techniques.
