"Washington Memorial on flag day" The Washington Memorial
designed by Robert Mills started construction in 1848
was still under construction during the Civil War and
wasn't completed until 1884. It stands as one of the
tallest structures in Washington D.C. It has been
repaired for cracked blocks and more recently had to be
checked for earthquake damage. |
